My story Gem and l is the story of twin sisters, Gem and June, told in first person perspective of 7 year old June, who has to learn the pangs of being a child whose grandfather thinks she is a spawn of the devil.
After falling on hard times the twins are up-rooted and taken back to their momma's childhood home, where they must only be seen one at a time and the overt cruelty of their grandfather teaches them the power within sisterhood, and shiny sharp things.
